Our client is the UK subsidiary of a business headquartered in the Far East where it is a market leader: established for more than 10 years the company has a dominant 80% share of its domestic market.  
 
The company manufactures and sells portable forensic laser systems, used to detect sweat, urine, saliva, blood, latent fingerprints, and other biological traces during fluorescent examination at the scene of crimes.  These products are now fully compliant for the UK market and have been introduced via a number of trade shows and exhibitions where there has been significant interest from a number of different sectors including Police, third party forensic examination companies, medical, universities, and the MOD.  
 
Whilst the UK business is in its infancy, it does have a foothold in the UK and has solid investment from its Chinese Parent who are fully committed to establishing the UK as future significant market
 
We are as a consequence looking for a Business Development Manager to spearhead and drive their UK sales activities.  This is a role requiring a true hunter (not a farmer) someone able to open doors and exploit new business opportunities with new clients across a range of sectors but primarily the UK Police forces and third party forensic scene of crime examiners.  Our ideal candidate must have a proven track record of selling to or operating within these sectors
 
You will be an excellent communicator with first class interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills capable of engaging and networking at all levels.  Reporting to the UK CEO you will work with a high degree of operational autonomy (submitting weekly reports and attending monthly meetings)
 
Working from home, your geographic area will cover the whole of the UK.  The appointed candidate will enjoy an attractive package comprising a basic negotiable salary c£40k + open ended bonus giving an OTE of c£80K+ plus car, lap top, mobile, pension and 25 days holiday
